Tour 1: Water in the Coachella Valley
$75 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Coachella Valley Water District in conjunction with Desert Water Agency has the right to import 194,100 acre-feet of water per year to replenish the groundwater basin that supports 110,000 domestic and agricultural users within CVWD’s 1,000 square mile service area. During this tour, follow the imported water from the MWD State Project water exchange point to the Windy Point replenishment area, the CVWD’s largest replenishment site. See how stormwater is managed by using the natural Whitewater River Channel and constructed Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel. Learn how all water domestic, irrigation and sanitation is monitored and controlled through a sophisticated telemetry system. Gather an understanding of domestic delivery and water treatment through ion exchange. Finally, discover the Salton Sea formation and its current significance in the water cycle of southern California. This tour includes a box lunch.

Tour 2: Valley Sanitary District Plant Tour
$35 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Half-Day Tour
Formed in 1925, the Valley Sanitary District has been serving the Coachella Valley for over 90 years. Join us to identify how the District has installed solar at the plant for energy savings, check out recently completed upgrades to their operations and administration buildings, take a tour of the plant, and hear about the upcoming “Phase 2B” plant improvements.
Tour 3: CVWD Water Reclamation Plant 10
$35 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Half-Day Tour
Join us for a tour of Coachella Valley Water District’s largest wastewater treatment plant, Water Reclamation Plant 10 (WRP 10), to see how activated sludge, clarification, flocculation, filtration and disinfection are used to produce high-quality Title 22 recycled water for landscape and golf course irrigation. Also, check out how new upgrades such as the newly installed high speed turbo blowers (HST) and aeration control instrumentation are helping CVWD address new challenges, stay in compliance, and optimize energy in the treatment plant.
